This is one of the strongest and oldest openings in chess, and is a favorite among not only amateur players but also the world's best Grandmasters. In the video we will talk about: 1. What is the logic, or general strategy, behind the Queen's Gambit. 2. Black's three main respo...

The most beautiful PAWN STORM of all time?
Переглядів 408Рік тому
In my opinion this is one of, if not the most, beautiful pawn storm that I have seen in a chess game. It was played in 1834, in the fourth of six matches between two of the world's strongest players of their time, Louis Charles de Labourdonnais and Alexander McDonnell.

How to BEAT the Caro-Kann Advance Variation
Переглядів 4,1 тис.Рік тому
In this video, I will show you a very simple but extremely powerful strategy that you can use as Black if your opponents play the Advance Variation (1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.e5). This strategy is especially effective at the beginner through to intermediate level, but I have even managed to play it in the past against players as high rated as 2450 so it's a good one to know at all levels.

WIN against the French Defense with this strong GAMBIT!
Переглядів 4,2 тис.2 роки тому
In this video I show a strong gambit line against the French Defense that scores very well for White, partly because it is objectively a powerful idea and partly because the Black player often goes wrong quickly, choosing the too-greedy plan of capturing our pawn in the centre.

We kick off a new series that aims to give you a good understanding of each major opening, without the focus being on playing from either the White or the Black side. 3 Deadly Traps in the Ruy Lopez

We kick off a brand new series showing some deadly traps across different popular chess openings. In the first video, we look at the Ruy Lopez, also known as the Spanish Game. Yes, these are other lines that are important. I may cover them in future videos - for now am on an extended break as am working on a Chessable course but once that's done I will try to get back and fill out the theory vids a bit more so there is a chance I will cover these in the future - not sure of the channel direction yet though.

It usually goes something like this after black plays Qe5. Be2 Bg4 D4 Qe6 D5 and after that i usually chase thir queen around and develop my peices while they have to worry about their queen.

I don't think they are too long, they are really comprehensive dont think you can cut down on to much or it will loose the quality of them. Possible solutions make them into part 1, part 2, part 3. That would be an alternative if you think you need to go that way !

I don't think the Pirc is difficult including the Austrian attack and the 150 which is the hardest IMO. The Alekhine and Scillian are difficult. The Scandinavian is easy especially for beginners. Every time I play it, 90% decline and push their pawn. I'm a 65 year old newbie. I took a 45 year break from playing chess. Perhaps that might explain my thoughts.
